It is time.
SOB.
I have to retire my Bass Weejuns.
Not only are the soles shot, but the leather is cracking and the right shoe is split up the back.
They have been re-soled 5-6 times.
My twin bought them for me.
How long ago?
You will never believe it...
I know it was before Ron & I met.
I think they are 15 years old. Yes 15.
Why not just buy a new pair, you ask.
I hate to say it - "They just don't make them like that anymore"
They don't.
All the soles on new shoes are made of flexible rubber-like material. No structure. No support. They don't last.
Plus, it is impossible to find shoes in Montgomery. IT IS!
I think I have to go visit my Twin in Florida. For a shoe shopping trip.

Say it isn't so!!!! It's true. They just don't make weejuns like they used to. Of course, I was just in the bass outlet in Orlando yesterday, and COULD have looked for new ones for my twin, but I did not know...
They don't make Weejuns in Narrow anymore... I had to change brands. But thanks, anyway! Sara wants to have a Weejun funeral.
