Sara piano recital

Sara had her first piano recital last night. Ron recorded it on his cell phone. I'll post the audio if I can get the file from him.

Her school is an a very old building downtown. I think the architectural elements are so cool.

She had a nice green jacket on for the actual performance. This was a staged picture afterwards.

Look at the short kid in front. He had on a red tie and shirt, shiny red shoes and a striped suit with a super long jacket. He looked like a pimp.

Jacket Issues

Got the cutest winter jacket for Anna Lee.
She doesn't like it.
"It's too puffy"

Too bad. Forced it on her this morning. It was 30 degrees!
She was not happy.
It matches her tights.

Let's see if she stuffs it in the lost-and-found like she did last year.

Had to re-size the car seat straps to fit over the bulk. Between that and the drama over putting in the pinkeye drops I was running about 15 minutes late this morning. Par for the course.

All dressed up

with someplace to go! The Girls went to a play with Buddy.

Yes, I know - Sara's slip is showing and Anna Lee's dress is too big.
But they were on time and enjoyed it!
(and Ron & I had a precious hour and a half sans kids)

I will never see my teen again

Finally broke down and got Sara a new computer. This is what she looked like all weekend:

I am HUNGRY, Dammit!

Ronnie picked Anna Lee up from school yesterday, which meant he had no snack for her, since the snack lunch box was in my car. Well... she couldn't have a snack anyway, because she had no shoes on. That is the deal we made with her - no shoes - no snack. It works... sometimes.
So... That is why she was starving when I got home.

Got the mail and changed. Came into the breakfast room to discover that she had poured herself a giant bowl of Cherrios. The organic ones - that cost $5 freaking bucks a box! Grrrrrr.

Went to pick up Sara from swim team. Came home to a table covered with grated cheese. Lee Lee happily sucking cheese off her fingers.

Can't leave her unsupervised. EVER. Even watching a video.

Thanks for the New Crown!

I love you, Aunti Ingi!

Hair crisis

This is what happens when you don't comb your hair every day. Glad to know my 13 year old still needs me occasionally - even if it is to comb out the hugest knots in her beautiful hair.

Before - very close to dreadlocks.

After - Used almost half a bottle of de-tangling spray.

This is my life! Hairballs. Glad I went to college.

Pink Birthday

Anna Lee's party was Saturday. The only requirement was that everything be pink. We had it at the movie theater - Madagascar 2 - "got to move it, move it". Pictures did not turn out great - mostly because dh took them while I ran around like a nut.

Picking up the balloons in our pink princess hat.

Is the cake pink enough?

More cute PJ's

A visor works as a crown {in a pinch}

Could.not.find.crown.anywhere!

She accepted my Aggie visor as a crown. Quite graciously. Like a good little princess.

Shopping is a Sport!

Our local A.C. Moore is, sadly, going out of business.
Stamps were on sale - 10 for $2.97.
Anna Lee wanted to help me shop, but was not quite tall enough to look in the bin.
Here was our solution:
