Jew "Day" ism

That is how Sara's History teacher pronounced Judaism.

He also called Synagogues "Jewish Churches."

Dress Up

While I was making breakfast Saturday, Anna Lee put on every one of my knee-hi stockings she could find.

She is also wearing a mint green old lady bed-jacket that I bought for Sara at an estate sale a million years ago. Just lovely. Don't you think?

New Ballet slippers

She is growing like a weed. Couldn't sit still for a picture.

Another "Pump it Up" Party

That is Rosa. Anna Lee has a very busy social life.

Push Up Pop for Breakfast

She was so well behaved this morning, I just couldn't say "No".

Pretty Baby

I love her sleepy.

Stupid Ad

Yea, I always eat horseradish on Rosh Hashana.

And carrot cake.

And oil for potato pancakes.

Are we just slightly mixing up the holidays?
Do you think someone has a list of "Jewish" items to put on sale during any Jewish Holiday to look politically correct?

Sara in a play

Sara was in a play at the Conservative Temple Saturday night. She was great! All I had was my cell phone, so the picture is crappy, but I DID document it.

I had to braid her hair - I had lots of "I can't do hair" angst...

Best friend

Madison and Anna Lee at the school's playground. They were absolutely filthy. I'm talking twigs in their hair. Anna Lee had no shoes on.
But VERY happy.

Sara in the Newspaper

Two of the Radio City Rockettes came to Sara's dance class. She is in the background in a few pictures on the local paper's website. Above is the article link.

She was so excited!

Sara is the middle girl.

Sara is all the way on the right.

See her?

Sara is in front, on the right.

Those are NOT Band Aids

Why does she always do this?
Why do I find it so stinking hilarious?

Sissy, Can I wear your glass slippers?

Graham Cracker Sukkah

Did this with my Sunday School class and they enjoyed it so much that I let my kids use the leftovers.
Even made tiny lulav and etrogs.

I'll have to get Ron to drag the sukkah out of the basement next week.

My creative daughter

Sara made her own weaving loom out of a cardboard box.

I am very proud, but not loving the pieces of purple yarn all over the house.

Breakfast helper with cute apron

Lee Lee helped me make biscuits Saturday. She found a hat from when she was a baby and a skirt that was Sara's and is still too big. To complete the wardrobe - the cutest apron ever! I told her I would get her a chef's hat for her birthday.

See next post for what Sara was doing while we toiled away.

Food Costs

I get it. Oil prices are ridiculous. Which increases transportation costs, which increases food prices. So we try to hide the increase by decreasing food size? Since when is a pound of bacon 12 ounces? There are 16 ounces in a pound.

Right?

First Trike ride outside

Well , she can definitely push the pedals and make the tricycle go, but has not quite got the hang of steering. Good thing my Beetle is 5 years old and the newness has worn off - Yup, she drove smack into the bumper, and smiled.

Sorry you can't see her face, the baseball cap replaced the crown for one day, but worn forward, not backwards like last year...

Yes, those are "Wizard of OZ" sparkly ruby slippers. If you don't believe that is what every little girl wants to wear - I went to pick her up at school yesterday and her friend Madison was wearing them (borrowed from Anna Lee). Get your own fancy shoes, kid!

One more thing - Yes, that dress was Sara's - sob!

Pink car

Finally found a pink car for Anna Lee.
When she is crabby in the car I try to distract her by calling out cars I see - "Yellow Car", "Red car". We are always on the lookout for pink. Yesterday was the first time I saw one... or course, Anna Lee was not with me. I took a picture for her. Aren't cell phone cameras great?

Do you think the rims and paint job cost more than the car? Close, I say.

Pink Monkey PJs

Found the CUTEST pair of Pink Monkey fleece pajamas at Sam's Club. Scooped them up for WINTER. Anna Lee had to wear them right away. I turned the AC down so she wouldn't roast.
They are size 4 and don't have much room. Could she really be ready for a size 5?? No No Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. My baby. Not a baby anymore. Waaaaaa.

P.S. Anne Lee informed me that the monkeys are brown, not pink. So, apparently I can't call them "Pink Monkey Pajamas?"

P.P. S. They had pink piggies too, but no size 4. I would have bought them for Zoe if they had 5's or 6's...

Sunroof

Anna Lee discovered how to open the sunroof on the Beetle this weekend.

Look at that dimple!

Cutest Picture Ever

Thanks to Mom for the scanned picture.
In case you don't know - me on the right, my twin (Ingrid) on the left.
Why do both my kids look like Ingi? That could be Anna Lee if the hair was lighter and longer...

ANOTHER Birthday Party

Anna Lee has an unbelievable social life.

Laura's birthday party was at "Pump it Up" Sunday. She had a great time, far too much sugar. For those without children, "Pump it Up' is a place that specializes in parties for children with inflatable rides. They have it down to a science, including a scam to sell you socks if you "forget" to bring your own.

Anna Lee and Jalen. One of my favorite kids. I raced him through the obstacle course several times. (they didn't say parents couldn't get on the rides)

Maybe this is why she didn't eat much dinner?

The birthday child gets to sit in a throne (ALONE). Unfortunately, they did not know that Anna Lee is actually a princess and therefore, should get the throne.

Saturday Breakfast

Princess biscuit for Anna Lee

Mini biscuits! Also may be used as eyeballs.

Raspberries are really finger puppets.

Sometimes I even make faces on the raspberry puppets.
