Slipper blow out

Lee Lee wears these slippers every day.
At Montessori Schools, they have the children wear "inside shoes" in the classroom. It helps to transition them and keep the classroom environment clean.

Well, Anna Lee likes these Walmart slippers. They are so cheap and poorly made, that they last just a few weeks before they wear out, get pulls, etc. Of course, Anna Lee likes to wear them ALL THE TIME. Inside or out. She calls them her "soft slippers".
I can only imagine what caused the destruction pictured above. Wearing on the playground?

Good thing I keep backup pairs. I sewed bows on the new pair last night. She was ecstatic this morning. (Guess what color?)

P.S. Got this note from Anna Lee's teacher yesterday:

Anna Lee had a beautiful day today. Lots of great choices for herself and did a lot of independent work. It was nice to see her so peaceful in the classroom today.

Dolly Umbrella

Anna Lee was so excited to use an umbrella yesterday. I let her splash in the puddles for a few minutes after I picked her up from school.

(Yes the umbrella was Sara's)

I love this shot. Very rascally!

Spooky Sky

Homemade Pizza

I don't think we have made homemade pizza since Memphis.

Ron made the dough while I took Lee Lee to her friend's birthday party.
We let the girls prepare their own.

It was quite yummy.

The prettiest Pink dress ever!

Sunday School. (Yes the dolly has a yarmulke on)

Do you like Sara's little Chinese take-out purse?

Maddie's Birthday Party

Maddie's party was Saturday. It was supposed to be a pool party, but got moved to the bowling alley since it was raining. It would have been nice to know that BEFORE I drove all the way to her house... but I guess I should have called before hand. Anyway, Anna Lee had a great time, since her friend Laura was there. We did have to skip nap and there was nothing to drink but Coke. Oh, and Anna Lee dropped a ball on her pinkie.

Here is Maddie.

Lee Lee and Laura.

Picking out a PINK ball.

Lovely, rolling around on the filthy floor in our party dress.

They had more fun playing ring-around-the-rosie than bowling.

Eating a Pink marshmellow while sleeping

Movie night

Got the girls 2 videos at Walmart Friday night, still cheaper than going to the movie theater, even without popcorn, drinks, candy.

The Reef was cute, Zoom just a bit dorky.

Do you like Anna Lee's froggy pj's?

Brushing teeth

Since I am always in a rush in the morning, I hardly ever remember to brush Anna Lee's teeth. So, I had the brilliant idea of stowing an extra toothbrush in the car. Today, we brushed our teeth at school. She was not very happy about the color of the toothbrush, but got over it since "Scoopy" (translation - Snoopy) was on it. I could not find a toothbrush without a cartoon character on it, so I went vintage. Has anyone noticed the price of toothbrushes lately? $5!! Come on! It costs maybe, 5 cents to make...

Not sure why she made such a mean-looking scrunchy face, perhaps that was her attempt at smiling while brushing.

I added a picture with Sara in it to yesterday's post so everyone could see that the other daughter does exist. Anna Lee is more poseable. Sara is starting to get embarrassed that she has parents.

Oh, it happened, Sara is my size now. I gave her a few pairs of my jeans Monday. They fit. EEEKK.

Sunday School

Ron & I are teaching religious school again this year. We got 1st grade, all girls (5), so it should not be too bad. We finally merged religious schools with the conservative temple, so we have a bit more critical mass. Sara actually has some students her own age now. Sorry, no pics of our kids, you guessed it, the battery died in the camera.

Notice the obligatory Starbucks cup.

Anna Lee had a pretty dress on (guess what color?), so she was happy. Sara got to be in a skit during the service (she was Moses). Which reminds me of the very profound comment Anna Lee made last week out of the blue.

Ready?

"Moses lives in the 10 commandments"

My dentist is going to KILL me

The flavor is simply called "red", not strawberry, since I doubt there is any strawberry in it.

Getting a slushie at Sam's Club got me 15 minutes of kid-free shopping, but it may cost me some kid cavities.

New Ballet season

Anna Lee started Ballet again this Saturday. Sara got into the Art Magnet so she is taking Ballet at her school for 2 periods. One less thing for me to pay for!

Anna Lee is wearing a leotard that was Sara's (sob).

Dinner

Anna Lee put away her half-eaten hamburger without being asked. "I save it for later"

Apparently, you don't have to eat the Broccoli if the pieces are tiny. This is Sara's plate (Still can't get Anna Lee to touch any food that is green, do they make pink vegetables?).

No No No Noooooooooooooooo!

Not Brett Favre.
I can't even pronounce his last name.
And he is UGLY.
And there is something wrong with his mouth.

Quarterbacks should be cute. Like Flutie. And Vinny.

Stupid Cheesehead.

Oh great. He gets number 4. MY NUMBER.
I'm miserable.
I need a Starbucks.

(For those that have no clue, Brett Favre got traded from the Packers to the Jets today.)

Putting the tricycle together

She was very excited, kept trying to get on the tricycle BEFORE it was put together.
