New Rug

Got a new rug for Anna Lee's room It is called "Sweet Birdy" by Pottery Barn Kids. The rocking chair was scratching the wood floor. She loves it!

What do you think?

New Phone coming!

This is what I ordered. Very girly. Smaller. Lighter. Same OS as the one I have now. No learning curve.

Best part - Free! (With another 2 year contact)

More curls

I found the Craps head

Doggie Dress

I did it. I admit it.

I sent the child to school today in the doggie dress.....
It was dirty, as in --- already worn, stained, wrinkled!

What kind of Mom am I!

Sometimes the path of least resistance is the way to go. Especially if you sleep late and it's 7:35 and you have to drop off a toddler and be at work by 8:00.

(I also let her have a cookie with pink icing for breakfast)

I will try to take a picture of the dreaded doggie dress tonight.

Oh - I did draw the line at wearing the crappy stretched out, stained, nasty soft slippers to school! There, I AM a good Mom.

Rock Star

She was singing along to Shimon's CD.
(If you don't know who Shimon is, you should have come to Sara's Bat Mitzvah)
She actually has a nice singing voice and can carry a tune.

Craps fatality

The head got ripped off by a boy at school.
Glad I was not there.
I have no idea where the head is...

Daddy's Shoes

Why is she in her underwear?
Flat out refused to get dressed in anything but the pink doggie dress. It was in the dryer at this point.
See the curls at the end of her hair? That is what I am afraid will come out if I cut her hair...

My Treo is broken!

My 650 finally kicked the bucket. The charger plug won't stay in the phone.
Of course AT&T says it can't be fixed. Why not? Oh.... you want me to buy another $200 phone!
I'm quite sure it can be fixed.
Time was, people FIXED things when they were broken.
That's right. At a REPAIR shop.
Now, everything is disposable.

On the bright side ... I am actually considering an iPhone.
But I really do like the desktop calendar application and interface with the Palm Treo.
Any comments on what Apple has to offer? Or do none my readers (All 5 of you) use a Smartphone? Get in this century, people!

Are they sharing a towel?

Why are they so close together?
Ron, get the shotgun.

Good laugh

Dymo commercial

Very funny.

Craps 3

What am I going to do when I can't find anymore pink princess crafts?
There is a foam pink castle that we can't decide whether to spent $7 buck on or not...

Flowers!

Great job, Ronnie.
Nothing better than getting a gorgeous, huge bouquet on your birthday.
They smell amazing.

40 is the new 30

Happy Birthday to us!

I love you sister twin!

I wonder where Anna Lee gets her mischievousness from?

Sponges? Nice Toy!

Are we dancing? Like the TV? I really do like the chair.

We all look thrilled. Nice pants, Karen.

Still lookin' good!

Cutest Hairdo ever

I can't do hair. At all. On myself or my kids.
It's either down or in a ponytail.
But one of Anna Lee's teachers is amazing. And she loves doing her hair. Sometimes, when I pick her up, she is all prettyfied.

Yesterday's style was the cutest yet.

FYI - that is the broken crown in picture #1 - she is STILL upset about it (because it had PINK stones). How many crowns does a princess need?

Why I need a Man around

Ronnie is away.
He is calling regional ball games. In rural Alabama. For 5 days!
I really do miss him.
And now I know why I need a man around:

1. To take care of the pool.

It took me 2 days to realize that the pool was overflowing. Ron left the water on. Can't wait to see the water bill.

2. To crack pecans.

I just can't do it. Ron cracks the papershell pecans by squeezing two nuts together, then delicately peels the shell away to reveal a perfect piece of nutmeat for Anna Lee. She loves this. Is mesmerized by it. When I attempt it, I barely make one nut crack, then wind up with pulverized pecan pulp.

3. To scare away bad guys.

I found a hide-a-key case and had the brilliant idea of hiding a key outside yesterday (Ron and Sara tend to lock themselves out). At bedtime, the nocturnal noises started to spook me.
What if someone saw me hiding the hide-a-key?
What if they break in and kill me and my baby in our sleep?
I should go move it.
But it is too dark and creepy outside.
I wound up locking my bedroom door, keeping all the lights on, and not sleeping.

4. To take out the trash.

5. To discipline the toddler.

The threat of me getting Daddy's belt is just not the same as Daddy actually wielding the belt.

6. To make coffee.

I can't do coffee. Ron is the best cappuccino maker. The Moocha thing scares me. What if it explodes? How much milk do I put in? Which way is the valve supposed to go? Too complicated.

P.S. To be my life partner and best friend?

Craps 2

I am REALLY tired of burning my fingers on the hot glue gun!

WALL-E

I took Anna Lee to WALL-E on Friday.
AGAIN
We went last week, when it first came out.
Last week, the theater close to her school had a show at 5:30 on Friday, which was perfect timing. This week, they only had 4:10 and 7:05, so we had to go later. Not good. But, I promised... So, had to go to Mellow Mushroom first, then take a tired, squirmy toddler to the later show.
Here are the some pics. You can see how not interested in posing she was.

New Crown

Sad to say that the $1.74 crown from WalMart finally broke on Thursday after a 6 days of wearing.

As any good Mommy would, I rushed to Claire's on Friday at lunch for a replacement.
What to buy?
Another crappy plastic one?
A "real" bridal tiara for $14.50?
I compromised and got a "better quality" plastic one for $3.50.
I literally spent my entire lunch hour agonizing over a tiara for a 3 year old.

The verdict?
She loved it.
BUT
I forgot to take into account that she is a Crowe and has a huge head. So it kept slipping off. I spent all night replacing the crown and untangling her hair from the 2 side combs.
I should have forked out the $14.50....

Bubble Wrap

Anna Lee got a hold of some bubble wrap right out of the bath last night. She would not get dressed until they were all popped.

Poem

Build me up of memory,
loving and angry, tender and honest.
Let my loss build me a heart of wisdom,
compassion for the world's many losses.
Each hour is mortal
and each hour is eternal
and each hour is our testament.
May I create worthy memories
all the days of my life.

Breakfast helper

Sorry Mommy ... get the Eraser

You just can't leave the child alone. Slept in till 8:00 while Anna Lee played happily in her room. She tried to prevent me from entering. When that didn't work, she immediately said "Sorry Mommy, GET THE ERASER."
Does she look the tiniest bit remorseful? Nope.
Took away her crown for a few hours. You never heard such sobbing.

Craps

Anna Lee still calls crafts "Craps". I try to correct her, but it is so damned funny.

She and Evan made a princess (PINK) and knight last night after dinner. She insisted that the knight was a "prince".
The foam crafts are fun, except that I always burn myself on the hot glue. We tried to get a special foam glue, but it didn't work very well.

Yes, that is a tiara on her head. Yes it is PINK. She calls it a "crown". She has been wearing it for 4 days straight, even to bed.

Aging Beetle

I looked down and saw an even round number on my odometer. Had to snap a pic with the cell phone.

(Is this how teenagers get in accidents?)

My car is getting old!
Oh well, at least it is paid for. If I can only keep in in shape until Sara starts to drive... I am dreading teaching a 16 year old how to drive a stick.

Shoe shopping

Anna Lee was a holy terror while I tried to shop for camp clothes for Sara.
Here she is pretending to be Cinderella in the shoe department at Kohl's.

Notice the nasty, filthy dirty shirt.

Bruster's Ice Cream

Free Kiddie Cone has eyeballs on it!
Was there any doubt what flavor she would pick? (PINK)
