Auburn Swim Meet

Most parents write their kids' events on their arms or legs in waterproof Sharpie so they won't forget their event #, heat #, Lane #, stroke. Carolyn thinks it is horrible - she says it reminds her of Holocaust tattoos...

(Yes, Dad, I know... Sharpie is the BRAND name and not a noun. At some point, though, it is easier to say Sharpie than permanent marker)

Danny and Sara playing video games between events.

Sara coming up from the pool deck after an event. She looks happy. I think this was after the 100 back.

Only swimmers and coaches are permitted on the pool deck. They had 2 signs posted and 2 Auburn kids sitting on the steps monitoring. Yet, while I was waiting for Sara to come up, a Mom attempted to descend to the deck. One of the "bouncers" stopped her. She held up a Diet Coke can saying, "I am bringing this to my child." ACCESS DENIED!! I just thought it was hysterical. What was she thinking? That the signs must be for everyone else BUT her? And how was the Diet Coke going to be any benefit to the swimmer? Was it going to make him faster? What was he supposed to do with it after he drank it?

Look at all those banners - pretty impressive. Auburn has a great swim program.

War Eagle statue outside the Basketball stadium, which is right next to the swim complex.

The football stadium.

There are paw-prints in the road leading to the football stadium. Sara was scared to go in the road - as if I wouldn't tell her if a car was coming...

Quick stop at the B.K. Lounge to get a bite. Notice the cashier's name... Oh, it will be on my list!

There are tigers all over town.

Sara had a swim meet in Auburn this weekend. Ron took her up on Saturday, while I stayed home with Anna Lee and vice versa on Sunday.
She took 15 seconds off her 100 back, way to go kido! (that is a HUGE amount of time in swimming)

Had a little fun on campus and in town taking some photos. It was a beautiful day.

What is wrong with Kendra? That was my best friend in elementary school. Never thought of that one as "ethnic".

I debated about making this list, fearing I would offend some.
Kendra is not bad, I agree. Not sure where I got that one. I need to have another column for where the name came from.
